The Westchester Children’s Museum, at Rye Playland, in Rye, New York, is proud to present recent work by photographer Sandra Wong Geroux. Her project STAY AWHILE captures the fleeting moments of childhood that often slip away in the fullness of life.

Geroux’s visual storytelling documents local families with startling honesty, resulting in images that are authentic and uncensored. Her photographs evoke what it means to experience the world as a child, while inviting viewers into a sustained remembrance of their youth. Childhood lives in Geroux’s images—unvarnished, candid, and exposed by a photographic viewpoint that is tender, empathic and grounded in the profound experience of growing up.

This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by ArtsWestchester.
